LET'S FIND SOME BIG YACHTS WITH BEER ON BOARD!
Once again, the resort looked like being really busy this last weekend, with lots of kids running around so I hopped into a boat and went to Club Paradise where I met the skipper of the 25 metre racing yacht 'Intrigue'.
He was staying in the area for a couple of days before heading down to El Nido and then on to Kota Kinabalu, before ending up in Koh Samui for some more serious racing. Unfortunately the owner was still asleep so I had to drink some beers in the resort bar, before heading back home. I thought about leaving the next day as I knew some other friends were sailing around here....
So I did, and what a surprise 25 miles down the track, to come up behind another lovely yacht, 'Hocux Pocux 2' which was also heading for KK aqnd KS skippered by Bruno, with lady Cath and Ross the Scot ( lower photo). they had loads of beer so i showed them the way through the reefs and dropped off in Concepcion AGAIN, after suggesting they stay on the mooring at Andy's Sangat Island 10 miles further on. They wanted to dive and Andy's place is perfect for all the WW2 wrecks in that area.
Hopped into the boat the next day and went to visit them, got towed halfway by another Mike's huge safari boat, which had lots of cold beer on board, but had to get back into mine as the waves were becoming too big for the tow. Called Chris and Mylene on their yacht 'September Song', and they said they'd join us all at Sangat and head for Concepcion that night. More beer...
Anyway, everyone is on the way to El Nido now and I had a great trip, flat calm, back from Concepcion this morning, Calauit River was most excellent as usual, I love that passage.
Guess what????? Two yachts just turned up on my moorings this afternoon, so we'll have to get to know each other tonight over dinner and lots of cold beer!!
I must say goodbye to a couple of friends who will be leaving Boracay soon to return to Hong Kong until they return with their superfast motor yacht next year (top photo), loaded with wine gums I hope.
Have a safe trip Ross and Susan and say HI to Richard and Una for me, I don't really miss the wine gums tooooo much???
