The above photo is a picture of my boat when the sea was calm!!! Not like the last few days with super typhoon Chanchu zipping around all over the place and narrowly missing my favourite residence in Northern Palawan.
I only wanted to show the lovely Sophie a good French restaurant ( Bruno's) and a good place to stay for a while in Coron (Seadive), but got stuck due to everything getting delayed/cancelled/effed up.
Ended up spending two nights myself at Seadive, with the lovely Sophie staying at Divelink 500 mtrs away across a storm tossed bay!!! Never mind, because who should stumble past the bar I was in, but the irrepressible senhor Lonnigan, looking pale and skinny after a sojourn in a place far away where people become pale and skinny, ( No it wasn't the local jail!!!). I think it was New York.
Several boats sank in the bay but of course us grotty yachties know how to anchor, so we're fine with a bit of wind. Only one yacht in Puerto Galera broke its' mooring and was rescued by Russ, Peter et al. However, Andy says 10 ferries/freighters slid slowly past him on his mooring and they all cended up on the lovely Sandbar beach. What a mess, at least they didn't scrape his nice motoryacht on the way ashore.
Latest news is that Chanchu is now a super typhoon and heading straight for Hong Kong, as is my mate Chris Boddington, arriving at the same time from the UK!! When worlds collide, or something like that. Never mind Chris, there's always Wanchai??!
Lovely superyacht Snooks will be riding the swells north to HK as soon as the storm has passed, wish Ross and Susan a safe trip home, enjoy your birthday trip Ross.
Hope to have some storm pictures sometime soon,
Ciao and FTW
