Back to Paradise

It's good to be back in sunny Busuanga at El Rio y Mar Resort, Northern Palawan. Hangovers are a thing of the past here with clean air and transparent waters surrounding picture postcard islands. Weather is great and the food wonderful. (look at the sunset over the infinity pool!!)
I did get a little antsy the other day though when there seemed to be a disco going on in my favourite peaceful restaurant. It's easy, though, to jump in a speedboat and go to the mainland where my trusty 250 motocross bike is always ready to whisk me off.
What a great bike ride around the north side of this island, the road is dirt but smooth, with wonderful views across to Club Paradise and then into Calauit Bay, where the African Safari trip can be taken. They have Giraffe, Zebra, antelope and a whole host of indigenous Philippine wildlife to view from a large safari truck. Many people like to hand feed the Giraffe, they're so used to visitors.
From there it's only a few miles to Concepcion Mike's 'Pier House Lodge', where the coldest beers anywhere are always available, even though Mike drinks most of them!!? There's a good waterfall to visit here, only 15 minutes walk down the road, and it's a great place to watch the sun go down since the house is on the water and faces west.
Rooms are available here and it's not expensive, mike's wife Liz makes good food and is much better looking than Mike!! Check out the lovely waitresses in the top photo in front of the lodge, all related to Liz!
Trouble is i've had gout for a week now and the old Voltaren 50mg don't seem to help too much, maybe i am getting old after all. Anyway it's not easy starting a motocross bike with gout in your right foot!!
Managed to make it to Brunos bistro in Coron though and then sink a few cold pain killers before the trip back to the resort .

Hi mike! Thank you so much for reading my blog! I decided to write you in english so that you could understand the whole 100% of it!..(well, at least that was my intention) I thought it was really funny of you for asking what does "cachopa" mean.. It means "little girl" or "kiddo". By the way, Coimbra does have great night life and you should come back some time, I'm sure they won't upset you to pay your tax!=) As you may know, Coimbra is mostly inhabitted by college students, therefore, there are always plenty of partys going on! Keep visiting me (and I'll keep visitting your blog aswell) and I hope you get better on your gout!.. =) teresa
